Nothing is impossible with God!

SCRIPTURE: Luke 1:34-38
For me, the virgin birth is not a big deal.
If God is real (and I believe He is), then “nothing is impossible with God.”
Once you’ve decided there is a God, then a whole new world of possibilities opens up.
God is the wild card that changes every hand, God makes hope possible.
“God is able to do far more than we could ever ask for or imagine.” (Ephesians 3:20)
We also have the Holy Spirit at work in us, accomplishing other great things for God.
If we are open and willing, we too will see God bring Jesus and His kingdom into the world through us.
I don’t know exactly how God will do this in me or through me, only that He will.
Each day I can make myself available to God, and then wait and see what doors He opens.
God has promised: “I know the plans I have for you,” announces the Lord. “I want you to enjoy success. I do not plan to harm you. I will give you hope for the years to come. (Jeremiah 29:11)
“I serve the Lord, may it happen to me just as you said it would.”
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
God, open my mind to Your possibilities, and inspire me to live for You, knowing that You have great plans for me, and can do far more than I could ever ask or imagine. May I not limit You by what I ask or imagine!

  1. Observations/Application
    How can this all happen?
    God is God!
His Spirit led Mary and His Spirit is also present this day called today. Mary let the Spirit lead. Trust and obey for God knows the Way. Submit. His will be done.

And as I pray ‘Your will be done’ lead me and guide me by Your Spirit so that I too may know Your leading and guiding. Open my eye Lord so that I can see. Open my ears Lord so that I can hear. Make me receptive to Your Voice saying -This is the Way. Walk in it.’

    Prayer
Help me with my walk with You throughout this new year Lord. Lead me and guide me each step of the way.

O God, You are my God,
And I will ever praise You
O God, You are my God,
    And Iwill ever praise You

I will seek You in the morning
And I will learn to walk in Your ways
And step by step You’ll lead me
And I will follow You all of my days.

And step by step You’ll lead me
And I will follow You all of my days.

  2. God’s plan for Mary must have interfered with her own plans. Maybe she wanted to be married for a while before having a child. And all the questions… Would anyone believe her that she hadn’t been unfaithful? Would Joseph still Marry her? But instead of complaining or questioning Mary calmly and quietly accepts the call. What an example of faith and strength. Lord, I pray that you would help me to be more like Mary. Currently I am more like Abraham and Sarah — doubting your words and trying to come up with alternate plans. Also, I pray that I will be sensitive to your presence and able to hear your voice clearly.
