In August my messages highlighted the “with Him” principle of discipleship.
A disciple is a Jesus follower, one who strives to be and do everything with Jesus.
I described the 4 aspects of this as follows:
- Being with Him
- Talking with Him
- Learning with Him
- Serving with Him
Why am I bringing this up again?
Because I sensed with myself that I was forgetting this.
I was doing stuff on my own, and only occasionally checking in with Him.
And doing it this way is, well, is very lonely, and empty, and unfulfilling.
Right now I am hearing Jesus say again, “I am with you… are you with Me?”
How about you?
thanks for sharing this, I appreciate the graceful reminder not to be anxious, but to rest in His invitation to grow in my relationship with Him…
“I am with you….have patience….it will come again.”
cool
There was a time when I felt like God was really using me and it felt great doing what I knew God wanted me to do. Now I just feel restless and distant and dont feel like Im doing my part for Gods kingdom and dont have that excitement that I used to have. I have been doing the first two things: Being with Him, Talking with Him but am eager to do the next two things: Learning with Him and Serving with Him but they dont seem to be happening. Maybe I just need to be still and keep doing the first two and have patience that the learning and serving will come in His time. So I hear him saying, “I am with you….have patience….it will come again.”
