  1. Observations/Application
    Elijah did as the Lord said. How does the Lord make His way known to me this day? Do I have the ears to hear His voice or the eyes to see His presence? I, as a man of God, I too need to do His will each day. And as I do today’s activities in His Kingdom I need to talk to the Lord.

    Once again in today’s reading I am reminded of Joshua’s words – but as for me and my household, we will serve the living God. He gives direction to my life. He is the way and the life!

    On life’s journey, Elijah is fed by the Lord – He provides for the journey giving what His servant needs. God’s presence is always there as was shown to Elijah by the whispering voice.

    In my daily doings I must always seek the counsel of the Lord. I walk daily in His SonShine for He lights my way in all I do and say. I need to walk with my risen Saviour each day. I need to do what is right in the eyes of the Lord.

    Prayer:
    Lead me and guide me in my daily walk with You, Lord.

    When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
    What a glory He sheds on our way!
    While we do His good will, He abides with us still,
    And with all who will trust and obey.
    Refrain
    Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
    To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
    Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
    But His smile quickly drives it away;
    Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
    Can abide while we trust and obey.
    Refrain
    Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
    But our toil He doth richly repay;
    Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
    But is blessed if we trust and obey.
    Refrain
    But we never can prove the delights of His love
    Until all on the altar we lay;
    For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
    Are for them who will trust and obey.
    Refrain
    Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet.
    Or we’ll walk by His side in the way.
    What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
    Never fear, only trust and obey.
