SCRIPTURE: Psalm 33
OBSERVATIONS/APPLICATION
Why should we praise God… Because He made everything, controls everything, holds back the power of evil and helps the cause of the poor.
It is not our weapons, our bank accounts, our good looks, our worldly success, etc that makes us strong, it is God.
Success and hope come from the Lord, we rejoice because of Him, His power, His love.
To know that God cares, that He is watching me, that He is at work in my life to use and to bless me.
Honest people praise Him because they are honest about their limitations and dependence, they know in whom their hope is.
This prayer is a way of strengthening faith, by declaring our confidence out loud (whether we feel or see it or not).
It is a public testimony, sharing with others why we have joy and hope in our lives.
It is spiritual warfare, reminding ourselves and our enemies where our strength lies (like David telling Goliath).
Faith is not static, it rises and falls each day… but praying this psalm would be helpful in keeping it together.
Today, this week, I will allow this psalm to express my hope, my confidence, my dependence on God.
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, keep me honest, keep me aware of my dependence on You (not on my health or wealth or abilities or investments). May this psalm echo in my heart all week, to strengthen my faith, share my testimony and fight the good fight.

Observations:
It is good to sing praises to our God. His Word is true and the world is full of His love. See His Word? Look at His Creation. God is there. He is faithful. He sees all. Blessed is He who serves Him. God is in charge and He delivers His people. Serve Him.
Hope in the the Lord. He is our Help and shield. Rejoice. Trust. Go forward expectantly. God is with us.
Application:
Where did I see Jesus today?
I need to walk in His presence always. I need to see His presence by putting my hand in His – He is my Father and I am His child and His banner over me is love. He is the Creator God and do I have the eyes to see Him? Do I consider Him in all I do?
The earth is the Lord’s and all within it – they cry holy – holy is the Lord God almighty.
As I /we enter a new chapter of our lives we wait expectantly upon the Lord to give direction. I am listening Lord. Let me hear Your voice as we finish strong. I/we go forward each day, joyfully, because the Lord God is our strength and song.
Prayer:
Lead me and guide me Lord always and give me open eyes and ears to show me and tell me which way to serve You.
I need Thee every hour, most gracious Lord;
No tender voice like Thine can peace afford.
