  1. Observations:
The Lord talks with Abram and he goes not knowing where.
When he arrived, he built an altar and called on His name.
Walked and talked with God yet told the Pharaoh that his wife was his sister.
Abram certainly fulfilling the Great Mandate – to be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.
When Abram arrived at the various places he built an altar unto the Lord.
Abram rescued Lot from his captives.
Abram believed the Lord – when the Lord told him about his heir.
Again, it is the Lord who makes the covenant with His people and not man.
Man trying to fulfill the Lord’s promise of a son and their schemes creates major conflicts – Abe doing what his wife desired.
The Lord confirming the covenant with the name change – Abraham.
The sign of the covenant – circumcised.
Abe laughed when he heard the news again of the promise of the son and it was God who gave Isaac his name.
Abe carried out the word of the Lord.

    Application:
In my daily walk, I also need to walk and talk with God, placing myself in His will for my life, letting God direct my path where I need to travel.
As I journey, there must be points/highlights when I make it a point to offer thanks to the Lord for bringing me thus far on my journey.
Walking and talking with God helps also to make sure that one continues to be separate from the world. In the world and not of the world. God’s people not mixing in but be a LightShine.
The words of Joshua come to mind – as for me and my household – we will serve the living God since Abe’s household was set apart when all were circumcised.

    Prayer:
Open my eyes Lord that I may see You this day. Lead me. Guide me the journey through so that I may travel this day in joy for the Lord God is my Strength, my Power, my Song. May my life show that I am a child of the King who lives for Jesus each day.
