Hope for ALL people!

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Matthew 12:1-21

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“In his name the nations will put their hope.” (Matthew 12:21)
What I notice about this is the response of the nations.
People from all over the world find hope in Jesus.
Jesus is not limited to one specific group, but is globally minded.
It is because “God so loved the world” (John 3:16) that he came.
John sees people “from every nation, tribe, people and language” (Revelation 7:9)
Currently there is a renewed nationalist spirit in my own country.
This is a response to the nationalist spirit in our southern neighbor.
Though I am thankful to live in Canada, I fear this nationalist spirit.
Seeking to make ourselves great again is not the spirit of Jesus!
God does not show favoritism… God serves all people (Romans 2:9-11).
God did not choose Israel out of favoritism, but to bless the nations.
They had a mission to all nations, but became nationalistic.
God’s family includes all nations, tribes, peoples and languages!
May we seek and celebrate hope for all nations, and not just our own.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, you give me hope in my life. So many others need your hope too. May I have an opportunity today to bring hope – not judgment – to someone who needs it.
