Violent opposition to the Jesus Way!?

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Matthew 11

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“The kingdom of heaven has been subjected to violence…” (Matthew 11:12)
What does Jesus mean here, how has the kingdom been subjected to violence?
The kingdom of God is this world under ruled by God-like humans.
This is how God created things (Genesis 1), and how Satan ruined it.
Jesus comes as a Son of Adam and lives and rules “like God”.
With compassion, grace, patience, love, faithfulness and forgiveness.
He does not steal, hurt, deceive, abuse or slander.
And as a result, he is accused and attacked by violent people.
Jesus is the kingdom of heaven subjected to violence.
For some reason, living the Jesus Way in this world provokes people.
It is too gracious, too welcoming, too forgiving, too patient.
Yet this is God’s way of making this world ‘very good’ again.
Jesus is not overcome by evil, but overcomes evil with good.
The violent people crucified Jesus, but they did not win.
Goodness and love WILL triumph over evil, despite its violence.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, it is easier to say I trust you Way than it is to follow it. Some will accuse me, and maybe even attack my reputation or character or faith. Still, better your Way than the way of hate or harm.
