PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Matthew 9
What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?
“According to your faith let it be done to you.” (Matthew 9:29)
Today again we see simple, desperate faith in action.
These blind men did not understand doctrinal truths about Jesus.
They couldn’t explain trinity, incarnation, atonement, the kingdom of God.
Their faith was simple yet sincere: I need help, Jesus can help me.
According to this simple, sincere faith, God helped them.
The demon-possessed man did not even express any faith.
But the simple, sincere faith of those who brought him did.
None of them understood ‘faith’, but they exercised it.
Elsewhere Jesus speaks of tiny, mustard-seed faith.
This is all Jesus wants from us; it is where healing and help begin.
Do we make it too hard for Jesus seekers, insisting on understanding?
If Jesus did not insist on preparation classes, why do we?
If they come seeking, that in itself is enough faith for Jesus.
Instead of walls, let’s open the doors for simple, sincere Jesus seekers.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, slowly but surely, after decades of learning, I understand a little better who you are. Thank you for accepting me before I understood, for helping me according to my mustard see faith.
