I AM A MUCH-LOVED CHILD OF GOD!

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Matthew 4

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“If you are the Son of God…” (Matthew 4:3)
Adam and Eve were made in God’s image, and were his children.
Satan comes and questions God’s goodness – does God really love you?
Their sense that God was letting them down led them to eat the fruit.
Israel is rescued from Egypt, and God is leading them to the Promised Land.
But their path is through the wilderness.
Satan tempts them to question God’s goodness – why did God lead you here?
Listening to Satan, they complain about lack of food and water.
Jesus has just heard God say ‘You are my Son, whom I love!’
And Satan tempts him to doubt God’s care, to make food for himself.
Satan’s plan is unchanged,  to get us to doubt God’s love.
If you were really God’s child, would he put you through this?
Our core identity is that we are God’s children; yet we forget this.
Rather, Satan uses our struggles to get us to question and doubt this.
Can you declare, despite your situation: I AM A MUCH-LOVED CHILD OF GOD!
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, Satan does not want me to believe this. But I refuse to believe Satan’s lies. ‘Get behind me Satan, I AM A MUCH-LOVED CHILD OF GOD!

  1. As Jesus was tempted….so are we tempted -daily – it seems that we just get thru one temptation and then there is another one.
Why do we need to keep being tempted, tested???? Is the way we handle the crisis show others around us how God is with us?? That He can do amazing things??? That no matter what Satan throws at us he is no match for God?
We just need to remain steadfast in our knowledge that our God can do all things and even when things are hard, God is on our side. We don’t need to prove who God is …or what He can do…God can do that Himself–we just need to stay secure in our faith in Him… no matter what!
    My favorite verse is #11
After being battered and bruised by what is happening in our lives God sends His angels (someone….perhaps they don’t even know that they are the chosen angel ) to minister to us.
So thank you Lord Jesus for always giving me enough to meet the challenges ( although sometimes I wish I would get a little extra) and loving me, by providing for me the angels that minister to me.
