PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Psalm 85
What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?
“Will you be angry with us forever?” (Psalm 85:5)
What happens when a Jesus follower messes up?
Do we blown our hope with God, is there no room for mercy?
This psalm is a prayer for mercy for a disciple who sinned.
They feel God’s displeasure because of bad choices they made.
Yes, there is room for mercy, yes there is hope for revival.
Jesus commanded forgiveness seventy times seven (Matthew 18:21-22).
But he does not ask of us what he does not first give to us.
We are graced, we are forgiven, even when we mess up.
If we come to him aware of our weakness, he doesn’t ignore us.
He has already forgiven us; repentance is how we experience it.
“The Lord will indeed give what is good” (v.12).
If you have wandered from God, know that God is waiting.
Like the father of the prodigal, Jesus longs for you to return.
The moment you turn, he runs with love, forgiveness and joy.
PRAYER
Lord, you are not stingy or vindictive. Thank you that we can always feel welcome to come back to you, no matter what.
May the favour of our Lord Jesus continue to rest on us – that we may walk in His ways: “Love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other.” It is the way of love. My love is expressed by faithful and dedicated service – but I don’t always measure up – I try. I must continue to try and seek the righteous way – faithful to listening to what the spirit says to me – not tuning him out! My true and lasting peace of mind rests on that. I have not found it in any other!
The Lord restores.
The Lord forgives.
The Lord loves.
The Lord grants salvation
to all who listen and do His will.
I need to be faithful and serve Him and when I fall down, He is able to forgive if I but turn to Him.
The Lord is merciful, full of grace, to all who walk in His ‘Sonshine.’
He is faithful, He is glorious
He is Jesus, all my hope is in Him
He is freedom, He is healing right now
He is hope and joy, love and peace and life
I have seen a light like the break of dawn
Giving blind men sight and letting lame men walk
I see a generation with resurrection life
We are a generation filled with the power of Christ
He has paid the highest price
He has proven His great love for us
We will praise Him with our lives
And proclaim our love for Him
