PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Matthew 28:16-20
What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?
“All authority has been given to me… go and make disciples.” (Matthew 28:19)
Jesus came for one purpose: to establish the victory over Satan, sin, death and hell.
He initiates the victory, and we are invited to live it out with, like and for him.
Our task is to show and share the victory… to be disciples that make disciples.
This is the heart of being a Christian.
It is not just believing something, but doing something with what we believe.
Our confidence is that Jesus is Lord, our comfort is that he is with us.
Our calling is to let the world see and know and enter into this new life.
The good news is what Jesus has done FOR us and THROUGH us.
Do I trust that Jesus is Lord, that he is with me and will make disciples through me?
This isn’t about making church members or building churches.
It is continuing what he began: drawing sinners to find their hope in Jesus.
“In every way make the teaching about God our Savior attractive.” (Titus 2:10)
Sinners are drawn by the grace of Jesus, and many give up their lives for him.
As a Jesus follower, I attract others to him with the same grace that drew me!
PRAYER
Lord, you have graced the world by taking it back for God, and us. You have drawn me to you by grace. May your grace reflect in me, so that others may be drawn to follow you as well.
“When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.” Some doubted. It was too unbelievable I suppose. As rational human beings, a resurrection is outside our thinking – but only if we think on limited human terms. Knowing that Jesus is also God – then the limits are off. I believe, help me overcome my own reservations – when Satan plays with my thinking. Lord, help continue to believe in you – the might saviour who saved me and by whose word we can serve and be strong!
The Great Commission shows the importance of sharing the Good News. And as you and I do that by our words and deeds, being like Christ unto them, Jesus has promised to be always with us. We are never alone in our living for Jesus. We all are living letters for Him by what we say and do. Epistles is what we are and He continues to lead us, and guide us in His way if we but trust and obey.
Spirit of the Living God,
Fall afresh on me,
Spirit of the Living God,
Fall afresh on me.
Break me, melt me, mold me, fill me.
Spirit of the Living God,
Fall afresh on me.
