PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Zechariah 5-6
What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?
“What are these, my lord?” (Zechariah 6:4)
A scroll with a curse, a woman in a basket, four horses pulling chariots and a crown.
Each of these signs indicate that God is at work behind the scenes.
Unseen by human eyes, God is directing the affairs of humanity.
It may appear to us that goodness is losing, but the eye of faith sees otherwise.
Each of these symbols can still hold the same message for today.
There is still a curse against thieves and deceivers.
Wickedness is established in a house (temple), and being worshipped.
God’s Spirit is unleashed in all directions (north, south, east, west) to establish peace.
And God’s servant Joshua (Jesus) has been crowned, to rebuild God’s house.
Jesus is establishing his Father’s house over against the house of wickedness.
Jesus is restoring spiritual and worldly harmony and peace as a royal priest!
We may not see this, and it may seem that wickedness is winning.
As Jesus followers, our eyes of faith see Jesus as greater than all we see in the world!
Be encouraged, the throne of evil may seem to strong, but God’s throne will prevail!
PRAYER
Lord, I needed these visions. Lodge them deep in my heart and mind so that what I see in the church and the world does not discourage and defeat me.
“These are the four spirits[d] of heaven, going out from standing in the presence of the Lord of the whole world.” The gospel goes out to all the world – it is no longer focused on the Israelites but rather on all that hear and accept the spirit/God’s word. Seems like the east – where Israel is – seems to be left out of the directions the four spirits are going – the word goes out west and south and north. It goes out to all the world. Yet, the prophecy says It finds rest in the North – it is first received as the Good news goes out. Lord help me to be receptive and to follow you!

In times like these, during these dark days, God is at work to restore His Kingdom. He has won the battle and will restore His Kingdom. He reigns. That is my comfort. And one day all will be as God intended it to be. But today I need to live for my King because it is Him I serve and it is His world.
This is my Father’s world:
O let me ne’er forget
That though the wrong seems oft so strong,
God is the Ruler yet.
This is my Father’s world:
Why should my heart be sad?
The Lord is King: let the heavens ring!
God reigns; let earth be glad!
