PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: John 9:1-12
What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?
“This happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.” (John 9:3)
Jesus says there is a reason for this disability, but its not someone’s sin.
Sin is the ultimate cause of suffering in this broken, messed up world.
But God isn’t punishing this man with blindness, but using him for glory!
God uses this man to reveal the glory of the Messiah – this was his mission.
God uses and directs all our circumstances to bring us back to God.
He uses our struggles and suffering to help others, to save others.
If I knew my life exactly as it is would save someone, would it be worth it?
Like soldiers in an army, our suffering is for a greater purpose.
Some are on the front lines, some at headquarters – all serve a purpose.
“As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me.” (John 9:4)
We are the agents of salvation; the Lord uses us to bless and save the world.
But am I a willing partner, seeing my life as an assignment to glorify the Lord?
Who does Jesus want to help, to bless, to save… through my life?
How can I turn my struggle into an opportunity to display the glory of God and Jesus?
PRAYER
Lord, my life as it is has the potential to save and bless many. Help me to join you in your work by using my life to display God’s glory and goodness!
Jesus places mud on the bling person and tells him to wash his eyes in the ‘sent’ pool. He goes washes and sees and now he bears witness to what Jesus did – he is sent. We too see – we recognize Jesus as the ‘way’ – the way to the Father – the way to complete reconciliation with our sin debt paid – we see and we too are sent to bear witness to that light. Lord Jesus – thank you for opening my eyes – I see help me to bear witness to what I see!
At all rimes and in all circumstances I am a living epistle read by all and they need to read/see Christ in me. I am a servant in His kingdom. He has blessed me and I need to be a blessing to others. All of my life I need to serve the living God.
All of my life, I will praise the living God,
My heart full of joy,
I will bless his holy name.
Bless the Lord, O my soul!
And never forget his gifts.
Bless the Lord, O my soul!
He pardons all our sins.
Bless the Lord, O my soul!
He saves us from all harm.
Bless the Lord, O my soul!
He fills our life with good.
Bless the Lord, O my soul!
He keeps us ever young.
Bless the Lord, O my soul!
His mercy never ends.
Bless the Lord, O my soul!
His kindness never ends.
Bless the Lord, O my soul!
His promises he keeps.
Bless the Lord, O my soul!
He died to bring us life.

He is the Bread of Life.
Bless the Lord, O my soul!
In him we find all love.
