Ponder anew!

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Psalm 111

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“The works of the Lord are pondered by all who delight in them.” (Psalm 111:2)
When is the last time you thought about the Lord’s hand in your life?
If you were asked to share about God’s greatness, what would you say?
People may love to sing ‘How Great Is Our God’ or ‘How Great Thou Art…’
But we seem less eager to actually tell others what makes the Lord great.
This psalm calls us to ponder how God is working in us, or around us.
It is the people who delight in this work that do the pondering.
Do I delight in the things that the Lord is doing in and around me?
If we think about it enough, reasons to praise the Lord start to multiply.
I would like to suggest this as a challenge for this week.
Take time this week to ponder and write out specific ways God is at work.
How did the Lord encourage you, warn you, help you, bless you, protect you?
You will discover “how pleasant and fitting it is to praise him!” (Psalm 147:1)
And you will have an easier time telling others about how great the Lord is.
“I will extol the Lord with all my heart in the assembly.” (Psalm 111:1)
PRAYER
Lord, open my eyes that I may see the wonderful things You are doing in my life, and around the world. And open my mouth that I my tell others!

  1. A new day to begin with God. Good morning Lord.
    And as I live this day in His presence I need to open my eyes and see Him everywhere – the majesty in the creation such as the fall colours, or in my daily bread, or my strength for the day. And at the end of the day I need to answer the question, ‘Were did I see God today?’ Living for Jesus as one who has been redeemed. Praise God.

    Praise Him, praise Him, all ye little children,
    God is love, God is love;
    Praise Him, praise Him, all ye little children,
    God is love, God is love.

    Love Him, love Him, all ye little children,
    God is love, God is love;
    Love Him, love Him, all ye little children,
    God is love, God is love.
    3
    Thank Him, thank Him, all ye little children,
    God is love, God is love;
    Thank Him, thank Him, all ye little children,
    God is love, God is love.

  2. The Psalmist lists all the reasons why the Lord is most worthy of our praise and he caps it with the “To him belongs eternal praise”. God is creator, provider and redeemer. His grace and love are not limited. Yes our God is worthy of praise – of eternal praise. Lord help me to honour and praise you by serving you as your child while I live here on earth and in eternity when my life on this earth ends! May I overflow with praise that others may hear!
