PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: John 1:6-18
What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?
“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.” (John 1:14)
Can you think of a ‘bad’ neighborhood near you?
A less than desirable area where you’d prefer not to live?
Jesus moved into a less than desirable neighborhood.
He moved in with us.
Humanity has turned God’s paradise into Satan’s garbage dump.
We have exchanged God’s glory for shame, misery, cruelty, darkness.
Our world is unsafe, and no amount of laws can make it better.
The problem is within us, our hearts and lives have become unlivable.
But God comes to us in Jesus, when we refuse to come to him.
God knows the mess or struggle or weakness our ‘house’ is in.
But God is willing to move in (through Jesus) to help us renovate.
We see God’s glory humbled in Jesus, dying so that we might be restored.
Restored as God’s ‘house’ and ‘family’, we are Jesus’ brothers and sisters.
Jesus wants to be at home with me; am I making room for Jesus in my life?
PRAYER
Lord, I cannot clean up my heart for you, I need your help. Thank you for coming into my life, and for renovating my life as your home You are welcome here!
Transition: “For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” Thank you Lord for the grace that I may have – even though I am a sinner and prone to sin! Again, your love and grace comes through. Help me to think, live and act more like you Jesus. You have come and changed everything! I may now stand before the Father as a forgiven sinner! Hallelujah what a Saviour!
LightShine.
To walk in darkness I will stumble and fall. But walking in His ‘SonShine’ I am truly able to walk. He will continue to lead me and guide me in the Way so I will not stray. I am His and He is mine – my Father and I am His child. In Him I have life and I need Him every hour to truly live.
I need Thee every hour, most gracious Lord;
No tender voice like Thine can peace afford.
Refrain:
I need Thee, oh, I need Thee;
Every hour I need Thee;
Oh, bless me now, my Savior,
I come to Thee.
I need Thee every hour, stay Thou nearby;
Temptations lose their pow’r when Thou art nigh.
I need Thee every hour, in joy or pain;
Come quickly and abide, or life is vain.
I need Thee every hour; teach me Thy will;
And Thy rich promises in me fulfill.
I need Thee every hour, most Holy One;
Oh, make me Thine indeed, Thou blessed Son.
