SCRIPTURE: Revelation 11:15-19
OBSERVATION/APPLICATION:
The visions have once again culminated at the foot of God’s throne. This is what we believe, that one day we will all stand before God to give an account of our lives. And no matter how bold or boastful we were against God, on that day we will be humbled and awed before Him. And every knee will bow down, willingly or unwillingly. We can either willingly submit now, or unwillingly on that day, but the day will come when we will realize that God was God, is and was and always will be.
I do have a sense of God now, and that is why I continue to seek and serve Him. But to be honest, I do not reverence Him or submit to Him as I ought to. And one day the full weight of His greatness will drive me to my knees, and I will realize how foolish I was. My only hope is that already now I realize my need for mercy, and that on that final day, I will not run away from God but will bow down in humble repentance and plead for forgiveness.
PRAYER:
Lord, keep this vision before me, and help me to reverence You more and more, and serve You with humility, love and respect. Prepare me now for the day when I stand before Your throne. Amen.
The number seven is a number of completion for me. It is the last trumpet. The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of God and He will reign forever and ever. God has taken His power and started to reign. After all, this is our Father’s world. God is in control and we too need to give thanks that He is the Almighty. And when we are in His presence, just as His people at Mount Sinai were, there were flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder. I need to come into His presence singing Alleluia. I need to stand in awe of my mighty God and King in whose presence I may be through Jesus Christ my Lord.
Lord , help me this day to live for Jesus. May what I do and say show that I serve a risen Saviour. May others see that God is in charge of my life and that I am a willing servant.
Come, now is the time to worship
Come, now is the time to give your heart
Come, just as you are to worship
Come, just as you are before your God
Come
One day every tongue will confess You are God
One day every knee will bow
Still the greatest treasure remains for those
Who gladly choose You now
