Finding Jesus through other religions?

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Matthew 2:1-12
“We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.” (Matthew 2:2)
I am curious how pagan astrology pointed these men to a Jewish messiah?
Here God works through another religion (likely Zoroastrianism) to draw people to Jesus.
I see this story as more about God seeking the Magi, not the Magi seeking Jesus.
I have heard stories of how God uses dreams to draw Muslims to faith in Jesus.
Or science, logic, or philosophy to draw atheists to faith in God.
God reminds us that His grace goes way beyond our narrow boundaries and beliefs.
He is drawing Hindus, Jews, Muslims, atheists, and Christians, etc. to Jesus.
I’m not saying every religion is right – not even Christianity – only Jesus is right!
I am saying God’s Spirit comes to people in their religion to show them Jesus.
God uses every person’s time, place and culture to help them seek Him (Acts 17:26-27).
If God works through other peoples’ religions, to draw people to Jesus, can we too?
My experience with Muslims is that Issa (Jesus) is the best place to start a conversation.
Just speaking His Name allows the Spirit of Jesus access to their hearts!
Don’t assume God has rejected people of other religions… and don’t reject them either.
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, You love all people, You sent Jesus into the world for the whole world. Thank You for reminding me that You are already at work in the lives of those around me – including people of other religions – drawing them to Yourself.

  1. I realize more and more each day that I cannot lead people to Jesus but the Holy Spirit does that work. All I can do is show His love to those I meet and be kind to them. Doing this is an on going work in progress. Not judging others because of their outward appearance when I really know nothing about them is where I need to continue to grow.

  2. I find it interesting how people outside of the circle of Jesus and the Jewish religion recognized that He was someone of great significance and ought to be worshipped. It was a star that drew them to Him. God can use any means to draw people to Himself.
