THE STORY OF JESUS: Psalm 128
“Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in obedience to him.” (Psalm 128:1)
God is the center of all life, all reality.
God made us free to choose, to partner with Him in ruling the world.
But our choices need to be wise, to line up with the way things work.
God’s character, God’s goodness, are written into the very dna of all reality.
In our sinful broken world, sin has disrupted God’s harmony and peace.
Because of sin, we all experience some suffering in this life.
But we can start to realign our lives to God by choosing wisely now.
The best way to move towards happiness or blessing… is God’s way.
Jesus has shown us what God-like living looks like: living to bless others!
He has warned us that it will likely lead to hardship in this life.
But ultimately it will lead to restoration and blessing for many!
Following God may not be easy, but its better than any other way!
As a Jesus follower, I want to choose Jesus’s way to being blessed.
By living my life for being a blessing to others.
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, help me to trust that following Your way of blessing others will ultimately lead to my being blessed as well.
Walking.
As a child I would try to walk in the sand footprints of my father, following him, imitating him.
In my daily walk today I need to walk in the footprints of Jesus Christ, imitating Him, being like Christ to those around me. And as I could not be like my earthly father, I can’t be like Jesus. But I must try. I need to walk in obedience in His Way, in His SonShine so that my light may also shine. Others need to see that I am a Christian – that Christ Jesus is alive in me and I in Him.
His kingdom is here and will come in full one day. My service to Him, my obedience to Him is at best broken today but will be complete one day. On my journey of learning in joy I need to be a blessing and this is only a possibility when I walk with Him, putting my small hand in His large hand as He leads me and guides me in the Way.
Lead me, guide me along the way
For if you lead me I cannot stray
Or just open my eyes that I may see
Lead me oh Lord, won’t you lead me
I am lost if you take your hand from me
I am blind without try light to see
