THE STORY OF JESUS: Acts 11:19-30
“Those who had been scattered… began to speak to the Greeks also” (Acts 11:19-20)
God has made us to be His voice, His hands, His feet.
When humanity sinned, He has been sending people as messengers to call us back.
But God’s messengers are not always eager or willing (like Jonah).
Here we see the disciples being scattered by persecution, and they spread the word!
It is through negative, awful circumstances that the message spreads.
Satan wants to defeat the church through persecution, but he only spreads it.
Like throwing water on a grease fire, the flames only spread further.
I believe the Lord sends us places – including hard places – for a reason.
Our challenges become opportunities to tell others about Jesus.
Our diagnosis becomes the opportunity to tell others about our hope.
Our unemployment an opportunity to tell others about God’s care and provision.
These feet were made for walking, these hands for showing, these lips for talking.
And these daily challenges are opportunities for me to share my hope in Jesus.
Am I dragging my feet, or are my feet bringing good news (Isaiah 52:7)!
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, help me to be ready to share the reason for the hope that I have. And help me to be willing to speak when the opportunity arises. May Your hand be with me as I go and share!
