He still reigns (and we reign with Him!)

THE STORY OF JESUS: Psalm 145
“Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom!” (Psalm 145:13)
This Psalm is a celebration of God’s reigning goodness in the world.
God has always been in charge of the Universe, and always will be.
When Adam and Eve were made rulers in creation, God did not lose control Himself.
When Adam and Eve surrendered control to Satan, God did not lose control to Satan.
God allowed Satan and humans to continue their misguided and destructive rule.
But only because He did not give up on humans; in love He decided to restore us.
God works through sinful humans, without violating their free will, to make things right.
He provides a new Adam, a new Ruler, Who does not surrender Himself to Satan’s lies.
Jesus Christ, as a ‘very good’ Adam, restores God’s ‘very good’ kingdom (Genesis 1:26-31).
And so, even when humans rebel and Satan takes charge, God’s rule remains.
No matter how bad or messy or evil this world becomes, God remains God.
Gods beats Satan and sin through Jesus: His dominion endures (Matthew 28:18).
And we reign with Him (Ephesians 1:20, 2:6), and join Him in doing good.
Are you trusting His sovereign goodness, and are you joining Him in showing it?
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, I am so thankful that You are in charge. You are gracious and compassionate, and no one can dethrone You. Thank You for restoring God’s kingdom, and for allowing me to be a part of it!
