THE STORY OF JESUS: Psalm 130
“If you, LORD, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand?” (Psalm 130:3)
As a Jesus follower, I am very much aware of my sin.
Not just specific sins, but my whole sin nature.
I am painfully aware of my self-serving, self-loving nature.
In subtle, and not-so subtle ways, I am still looking out for #1.
The Lord knows my sin so much more than I do.
He knows what I should be like, in my created perfection.
To be a perfect expression of God and neighbour love.
I’ve never known this perfection, so I don’t realize how far I’ve fallen.
In fact, we lower the standard, and consider ourselves pretty good.
But Jesus has shown us the depths to which we’ve fallen.
And the depths to which God will go to forgive us.
With God there is forgiveness, as Jesus has made clear.
If God kept a record of our sins, no one could stand.
Thank God He does not keep record; He redeems us from all our sins!
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, thank You for forgiving my sin, and reclaiming me as Your child. I depend fully on Your grace, as do all others. Help me to see others with grace, just as You see me!
Our talks to God
can be of praise for all that He has done for us
or
a cry of mercy and help.
At all times I need to be in contact with God, my Father.
And in His presence I can not stand like the people of Israel who had Moses as a mediator
and my mediator is Jesus Christ. He knows me inside out
and yet
He makes me clean from all my sins.
J makes me whole, complete, sinless
for He is my Redeemer.
I know he rescued my soul
His blood has covered my sin
I believe
I believe
My shame He’s taken away
My pain is healed in his name
I believe
I believe
I’ll raise a banner
‘Cause my Lord has conquered the grave
My Redeemer Lives
My Redeemer Lives
My Redeemer Lives
My Redeemer Lives
I know He’s rescued my soul
His blood has covered my sin
I believe
I believe
My shame He’s taken away
My pain is healed in His Name
I believe
I believe
I’ll raise a banner
‘Cause My Lord has conquered the grave
You Lift my burdens
I’ll rise with You
I’m dancing on this mountain top to see your kingdom come
My Redeemer Lives
My Redeemer Lives
My Redeemer Lives
My Redeemer Lives
