A miracle of giving!

THE STORY OF JESUS: 2 Corinthians 8-9
“Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!” (2 Corinthians 9:15)
These two chapters are an inspiring vision of generosity.
The Macedonians are still inspiring many with their cheerful giving.
Paul writes many memorable sentences to convey this miracle of giving.
And after everything he says, he still calls it ‘indescribable’.
When is the last time you saw such radical generosity?
Extremely poor yet overflowing with joy, begging to give!
Paul sets up their example as something for all to imitate!
“See that you also excel in this grace of giving.” (2 Corinthians 8:7)
This is where I am being both inspired and challenged.
As Jesus followers, our giving should not be a duty.
It should be our response to God’s indescribable gift to us.
Jesus is God’s gift, and the Spirit, and they produce love and joy.
We are being made into a joyful people eager to share.
Do people thank God for His indescribable gift as seen through us?
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, Christians are known as many things, but is rich generosity one of them? Help me to take steps towards this kind of cheerful giving!
