My life an echo of Jesus!

THE STORY OF JESUS: John 18:19-24
“I have spoken openly to the world.” (John 18:20)
People can’t ask Jesus today anymore, since He is not physically with us.
But anyone can read the gospels today to learn the message of Jesus.
Anyone can also ask a Jesus follower too, for they know what He said.
“Ask those who heard me. Surely they know what I said.” (John 18:21)
It is very important for us as Jesus followers to know what Jesus said and did.
This is why I spend most of my devotional time in the gospels.
I want to make sure that I am witnessing to what Jesus actually said and did.
Sadly, through history, the church has missed the point of Jesus’ message.
In Jesus’ Name, people have been shamed, robbed, abused, tortured and killed.
Things like forgiveness, compassion, humility, love for enemies were forgotten.
Yet Jesus’ message is still with us, through scripture and the Spirit.
And there are still Jesus followers who do take Jesus’ message seriously.
May I be someone that knows and shows the message of Jesus in the world.
May people hear in me the echo of Jesus’ message, and be drawn to Him.
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, You have sent me into the world to reflect Your love and truth. May the message of my life echo the message of Your life.

  1. Open ears.
    Open eyes.
    Open heart.
    I like the disciples and many others have heard and seen what Jesus did and at any time I must be ready to answer the questions raised about my Saviour. Those around me should also be able to see Christ Jesus in me but what I say and do. I am His follower and an instrument of His peace.

    I heard the voice of Jesus say,
    “Behold, I freely give
    The living water: thirsty one,
    Stoop down, and drink, and live.”
    I came to Jesus, and I drank
    Of that life-giving stream;
    My thirst was quenched, my soul revived,
    And now I live in Him.

    Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
    Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
    Where there is injury, pardon;
    Where there is doubt, faith;
    Where there is dispair, hope;
    Where there is darkness, light;
    Where there is sadness, joy;

    O Divine Master,
    Grant that I may not so much seek
    To be consoled as to console;
    To be understood as to understand;
    To be loved as to love.

    For it is in giving that we receive;
    It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
    And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
