A foolish, life-transforming message!

THE STORY OF JESUS: 1 Corinthians 1-2
“I resolved to know nothing except Jesus Christ and him crucified.” (1 Corinthians 2:2)
As a Jesus follower, I believe that Jesus of Nazareth is the Messiah.
He is in charge as Lord, and He is our only hope for full LIFE.
Sounds foolish doesn’t it… but it gets worse.
As a Jesus follower, I believe that He is a crucified Messiah.
In other words, He saves us by being shamed, mocked, trampled, killed.
He refuses to play the self-serving game, survival of the fittest.
He wins through love, not hate; through gentleness, not force.
Paul knew that knowing the crucified Christ was the most important.
Not just knowing about, but “sharing in His sufferings” (Philippians 3:10)
I want to know the Jesus Way, the way of the cross, the cross-shaped life!
Until we know this better, we will not understand anything else.
The more we know Jesus crucified, the more we will change in every way.
Our priorities and desires, our values and morals, all will be transformed.
As a Jesus follower, do you want to know Jesus this way?
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, I want to know You this way, and I want to help others know You this way. May my foolish message be supported by a demonstration of the Spirit’s power!

  1. As Christians we have the mind of Christ. The Spirit continues to work in us and through us. What we say and what we do need to be the same. A oneness. No discord. And when we see through the eyes of Jesus having the mind of Christ there would be no discord among His people. I need open ears, open eyes and a willing Spirit driven heart to live for Jesus.

    Spirit of God, dwell thou within my heart;
    Wean it from earth, through all its pulses move;
    Stoop to my weakness, mighty as thou art,
    And make me love thee as I ought to love.

    Teach me to love thee as thine angels love,
    One holy passion filling all my frame–
    The baptism of the heaven-descended dove;
    My heart an altar, and thy love the flame.
