Jesus still teaches me!

THE STORY OF JESUS: John 14:25-31
“The Holy Spirit… will remind you of everything I have said to you.” (John 14:26)
The Spirit of Jesus is still with us, even if He is not physically with us.
As I contemplate Jesus through the gospels, the Spirit of Jesus teaches me.
He reminds me of what Jesus said, so that I can use it in my own life.
I believe that we all have access to this guidance.
But in order to receive it, we need to be open to it, to seek it.
It is because we love Jesus, and think often about Him, that He responds.
The more we reflect on the life and teaching of Jesus, the better we hear Him.
How He handled sinners, His words on forgiveness, how He faces adversity.
His humble, God-honoring and people-serving motivation shapes me.
As I face my own situations, His Spirit reminds me of what He said and did.
Or His Spirit gently rebukes me after I’ve done something un-Christ-like.
In this way, I am able to follow Jesus today, in my life, with His help!
Is the Spirit of Jesus a part of Your daily experience?
Are you being encouraged, challenged and supported by Jesus in your life?
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, speak to me that I may speak in living echoes of Your tone!

  1. The gift of peace.
    One thing we desire this day is peace – peace from all the violence that is happening on this earth in all places. This peace is the freedom from violence and trouble.
    Yet the peace which Christ gives is the peace that is ever present even during the troubles in our lives because He is ever present and knows our situations and He is able to calm our hearts o fear and anxiety for we know that He is always with us. God is our Refuge and Strength all the time.
    Emmanuel.
    God with us.
    Go in His name and in His power.
    He continues to lead.

    Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
    Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
    Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
    Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

    Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
    I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
    Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
    Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.
