THE STORY OF JESUS: John 14:5-14
“I am the way and the truth and the life.” (John 14:6)
Some people dislike the narrow-mindedness of these words.
They want to affirm that there are many ways to find God.
I will grant that there are many ways to TRY to find God.
But that does not mean that all attempts to find God will work.
I consider myself an inclusive exclusivist (or exclusive inclusivist).
God is much more welcoming and gracious that our narrow religious views.
(I think of how the wise men found Jesus through pagan astrology).
But no matter what, grace and mercy are the only way to find God.
Jesus is the grace and mercy of God for all people, all nations.
No one will be welcomed by God without the grace of Jesus.
If christians or atheists or hindus are saved, it will only be by grace.
Those who come to God full of themselves (christian or non-christian)…
Will find the way of grace beneath them, and will refuse to enter.
Jesus is the way for all people, but will all people accept His way?
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, help me to see that You are the way for everyone, and that everyone is on the way with You… whether they admit or accept it or not.

But as for me and my household, we will walk in the way of the Lord.
And do I listen to he soft voice saying – this is the way, walk in it?
Jesus is the way. I need to serve Him each day anew. I need to be like Jesus unto them. They need to see Him living in me.
True life is life in Christ. Only those in Christ are alive. Alive forevermore.
And so today I will continue my walk with my Saviour, placing my small hand into His as He leads and guides my always.
When we walk with the Lord in the light of his Word
What a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will, he abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.
