Flow river flow!

THE STORY OF JESUS: John 7:37-44
“Rivers of living water will flow from within them.” (John 7:39)
The Feast of Tabernacles (John 7:2) celebrated God’s care in the wilderness.
It was also a time for anticipating Ezekiel’s restored temple (Ezekiel 40-42).
During the Festival the priest would pour water on the altar.
This recalled the river from the altar in Ezekiel’s vision (Ezekiel 47).
“Where the river flows everything will live.” (Ezekiel 47:9)
Jesus is saying that He is God’s refreshing river from the throne of God.
Jesus is saying that He is the source of God’s life-giving Spirit.
If we believe Jesus, and entrust our life to Him, He will revive us.
God’s intent from the very beginning has been to restore paradise.
To do that, He had to restore Adam (humanity) to his position as ruler.
Jesus is the last Adam; Satan did not beat Him as he beat the rest of us.
Jesus receives the Spirit of life (Genesis 2:6-7), and shares it with us.
The Spirit in us produces love, joy, peace, etc., the essence of LIFE.
Is this LIFE flowing and growing in you, are you allowing His LIFE in you?
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, I need the fruit of Your Spirit growing and flowing in me, if I am going to experience LIFE as God meant it to be… “life to the full”. May Your life-giving Spirit flow in me!

  1. Jesus is the Living Water.
    He gives life everlasting.
All who are thirsty, come to Jesus.
    Believe.
And yet many will not accept this gift of life.
I need to be Spirit driven at all times.
I need to dress myself with His armour so that I can live for Him living the frit of the Spirit each day anew.

    Spirit of the Living God
    Fall fresh on me
