Bringers of salvation???

THE STORY OF JESUS: Isaiah 24-27
“We have not brought salvation to the earth.” (Isaiah 26:18)
We live in a sin-messed world: “a curse consumes the earth!” (24:6)
God hates the violence, abuse, injustice, misery, immorality.
He established Israel to be a light in a dark world, but that light faded.
Called to be a blessing, they did not bring salvation to the world.
These chapters describe God’s dream for the world (25:6-9).
They describe God’s compassion for the poor and oppressed (25:4).
But they also promise God’s intervention to set things right.
God is restoring His creation kingdom, and His creation family.
But those who resist His dream and reject His grace will miss out.
In Jesus we see God bringing salvation to the earth.
Sadly, the children of Abraham did not share this dream, and resisted Him.
Do we as Jesus followers share the dream, and are we working with Him?
God’s compassion for the poor and oppressed was clear in Jesus.
Is it clear in us, in me – are we bringing salvation to the earth?
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, help us not just to pray ‘Your kingdom come, Your will be done!’ Help us to work with You in bringing salvation to the ends of the earth!
