Blessed to be God’s child!

THE STORY OF JESUS: Luke 11:27-28
“Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you.” (Luke 11:27)
Did Mary get a special blessing because she was Jesus’ mother?
Did Adam get a special blessing because he was God’s first child?
Does anyone get a special blessing because of their position with God?
“Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” (Luke 11:28)
Just because I’m a minister, or was raised in church, I am not more blessed.
Everyone has a special relationship to God as His much-loved child.
Everyone has a special purpose from God in the world.
But how do we respond to our special relationship and purpose?
“Blessed are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” (Luke 11:28)
God has spoken us into existence by His word, but have we received it?
Have we obeyed His call to live as His children with a purpose?
No one, not even the greatest ‘saint’, is more blessed because of ‘position’.
It is our heart response, how we receive or reject His grace to us.
If you want to feel blessed today, live like God’s child, for God’s purpose!
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, I am God’s child, created for God’s purpose. Help me to enjoy this special identity. But even more, help me to “hear and obey” it!
