My rock and refuge!

THE STORY OF JESUS: Psalm 62
“Surely they intend to topple me…” (Psalm 62:4)
My enemies are not the same as David’s enemies.
Not even sure I have any human enemies, like David did.
But I have an enemy that wants to topple me too.
Satan’s only power is the power of deception.
He is a messenger of doubt, fear, discouragement, confusion, defeat.
He uses people and circumstances in my life to hinder and hurt me.
And he is good at what he does, because to this day I still fall for it.
If the battle depends on me and my strength, I’m doomed.
“Power belongs to you, God, and with you, Lord, is unfailing love.” (Psalm 62:12)
With David, I KNOW my hope and strength belong to the Lord.
God through Jesus has beaten Satan, and Satan cannot win against Him.
I can’t beat Satan, but as a Jesus follower I stand with One Who has!
I may struggle and stumble, but with Jesus I remain secure.
My success does not depend on me, but on Jesus – my rock and refuge!
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, Satan can huff and puff and even blow down my house, but NOTHING can separate me from You and Your love!

  1. Jesus is my Rock.
Remember the house built upon the Rock? It did not topple. At all times I need to praise Him for He is my Rock and Salvation.
He is my Refuge and at all times I nee to talk with my God. That’s Comfort.
Live for Jesus – that’s the duty of man and He will do the accounting of what I have done.
    Fear God.
    Love Him.
As found in Ecclesiastes, find joy in the Lord
and whatever your eye sees God will bring you into judgment.
    Love God.
    Love man.
    Live for Jesus.

Living for Jesus a life that is true,
    Striving to please Him in all that I do;
    Yielding allegiance, glad-hearted and free,
This is the pathway of blessing for me.
    O Jesus, Lord and Savior,
    I give myself to Thee,
    For Thou, in Thy [redemption],*
    Didst give Thyself for me;
    I own no other Master,
My heart shall be Thy throne,
My life I give, henceforth to live,
    O Christ, for Thee alone.
