It’s NOT all about me!

THE STORY OF JESUS: Deuteronomy 7:1-9:6
“Your heart will become proud and you will forget the Lord your God!” (Deuteronomy 8:14)
When things go well, we start to get confident in ourselves.
It’s because I’m smarter or stronger than others (Deuteronomy 7:7).
It’s because of my wisdom and power that I’ve succeeded (Deuteronomy 8:17).
It’s because I live my life better than others (Deuteronomy 9:4).
Moses warns people not to think that they are doing better because they ARE better.
Or not to think that others suffer or struggle because they are worse than us.
We are as stiff-necked as everyone else (Deuteronomy 9:6); God has to work through someone.
But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.” (1 Corinthians 1:27)
God needs to show us, and the world, that we are all desperate and needy without Him.
I’m married, I have four children, a home, two cars, and a good job… and much more!
Is it because I am smarter, stronger, wiser or better than others?
Or is it because God has set me up for a reason, to use me in the world to bless others.
I am blessed to be a blessing; may I never forget WHO is behind my life, and WHY He is blessing me.
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, when we forget WHO blesses us, and WHY, we become dangerous to Your cause, and to the world. Forgive me for thinking its somehow because of me. It’s all grace… grace, grace, grace!
