THE STORY OF JESUS: Psalm 27
“I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.” (Psalm 27:13)
How do I explain the deep-rooted sense within me that there is a God, and that Jesus is right.
God, and how Jesus presents God, is compelling to my soul, it grips me deep within.
It is not religion or church that convince me, these have been poor examples of God and Jesus.
And its not my own spiritual strength or religious practice that keep it real for me.
I cannot lose the sense of God’s existence and goodness, despite all that is dark in the world.
And the life and message of Jesus seem so right, so necessary in this messed up world.
Having this deep confidence is what enables me to keep going.
David’s sense is stronger than mine, he remains confident even in the middle of war.
“Though war break out against me, even then I will be confident.” (Psalm 27:3)
Today is Christmas Day, the day we remember Jesus coming, and the difference He makes.
For many people it is a dark time, with tinsel and traditions masking their pain deep within.
My prayer, every time I hear a Christmas carol, is that the hope of Jesus will shine through.
The world is dark, but you can experience David’s confidence in the Lord’s goodness too.
Don’t let the darkness crush your spirit; allow light to brighten your heart and life!
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, thank You for shining hope into my heart, giving me confidence in this dark, messed up world. May more people find You beneath all the tinsel and wrapping paper.
