Free to love!

THE STORY OF JESUS: Galatians 5:13-15
“Do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh.” (Galatians 5:13)
No more need to fear God’s anger, or punishment for sin, we are loved, we are free.
So does that mean we can live as we please, do what we want?
By no means, we have been set free from such self-indulgent, self-destructive living.
We are now free to live life as God intended, free to love!
“Serve one another humbly in love.” (Galatians 5:13)
This posture of humility and love is the Spirit of Jesus.
The attitude of humility is especially critical for us.
For its not that we are sin free, but that by God’s grace we are guilt free.
I am no better than the next person, and no worse.
I am in need of mercy and kindness, just like the next person.
When I see someone struggling, they are the mirror image of me.
They need someone to show them love, just like I did, and do.
This call to humble love is the heart of the law, and the key to joy.
Think about it, how happy can we be if we keep on biting and devouring each other?
God has taken the first step to break the hold of sin on the world.
Now that we are free, the next step is ours.
“Serve one another humbly in love.” (Galatians 5:13)
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, every day there are opportunities for me to express love to others. Even if they don’t deserve it, they need it… just like me.
