Something to be glad about!

THE STORY OF JESUS: John 14:5-7
“I am going away and I am coming back to you.” (John 14:28)
This whole chapter has been about restored fellowship.
Jesus came to bring us back to God, and to ourselves, and to each other.
The way to restoration involved His dying… but He came back from death.
Death, the absence of the life-giving Spirit (Genesis 2:7), breaks fellowship.
But now that Jesus defeated death, NOTHING can separate us from the love of God.
Through the Spirit, Jesus is with us, and as a result, God is with us.
This is good news, because we are now in fellowship with the greatest of all!
The prince of this world, as powerful as he seems to be, has nothing over Jesus or God.
And we are in them, and they are in us.
This knowledge and experience – of God over, with and in us – is the best news of all.
But do we enjoy this, do we live through each day encouraged and enabled by God?
His presence, His power, His purpose, part of my everyday experience?
Can you feel His strength in you, can you sense His loving encouragement?
Do you hear His gentle guidance, and do you follow His leading?
Jesus says we should be glad about this.
I wonder, how many Christians are actually experiencing this gladness?
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, may You stir Your Spirit in me in a special way today, that I may sense Your presence and power and purpose in my life. Make me glad in Your presence.
