Love makes a home!

HeartHomeTHE STORY OF JESUS: John 14:22-24
“Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching.” (John 14:23)
Jesus takes us beyond the law to the heart of God.
“You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’(Deuteronomy 19:21) But I tell you, do not resist an evil person.” (Matthew 5:38-39)
He shows us how love fulfills the law – to love God and to love people (Luke 10:27).
The shape of that love, like a diamond, has many facets (1 Corinthians 13:4-8).
“My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.” (John 14:23)
Obviously, those who do not love will not feel at home with God or Jesus.
And they in turn cannot make themselves at home in someone absorbed by self-love.
Have YOU ever tried living with someone who was not a loving person.
We need to take Jesus’ teaching very seriously.
Not just because it is Jesus, but also because our health and happiness depend on it.
What made this creation paradise was the love that united God with creation and us.
A house is not a home without love.
Creation is not paradise without God, His Spirit, and us, in loving fellowship.
Jesus teaches and shows us the full extent of God’s love (John 13:1-5).
Do I want to experience true love, true, joy, true peace?
There is no way apart from God, and Jesus, and the Spirit – over, with and in us.
“The fruit of the Spirit is…” (Galatians 5:22-23).
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, You have shown us the Father, and the Father is love. Help me to move beyond the theory of love, to the reality and practice of loving and being loved. Help me to practically love people today!
