The fellowship of the Spirit

THE STORY OF JESUS: John 14:15-21
“I will not leave you as orphans.” (John 14:18)
Jesus began by speaking about His Father’s house, and room for us.
He described His intimacy with the Father as ‘being one’.
Same heart, same love, same purpose, to see Jesus is to see the Father.
Here we see this intimacy offered to us, to reconnect us as children of God.
No longer orphans, which is what we became when we left God.
Jesus comes to restore God’s Spirit and life, and our status as His loved children.
In dying and rising, Jesus beats the devil, reverses the curse, and restores God’s children.
By faith, we are one with Jesus, who is one with this Father… making us one with the Father.
The reason the world does not see the Spirit is because it remains separated from God.
More than anything, the Spirit is about restored fellowship with God.
To sense the invisible presence of Jesus and God, to feel their life in our being.
To breathe in the Spirit of life, to know I am alive with God, fully alive!
“The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.” (John 14:21)
Love, not breath, is the key to being truly alive.
Through Jesus, we see and experience the full extent of God’s love, and the Spirit makes it real.
“The Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” (Genesis 2:7)
“Because I live, you also will live.” (John 14:19)
Today I am savoring the fellowship of the Spirit, which unites me fully to God and Jesus.
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, I am surrounded and filled with Your love. The Spirit is not just about power, He is life and love overflowing from within. I am Yours, and You are mine, and nothing can separate me from God’s love!
