THE STORY OF JESUS: Luke 10:22-24
“All things have been handed over to me by my Father.” (Luke 10:22)
Jesus retakes control of creation as a human because Adam and Eve lost it.
“For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ. Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death.” (2 Corinthians 15:21-25)
Jesus is ruling NOW, and will continue until all vestiges of sin and its curse are gone.
He does not rule with force or threat, but with God-like love, joy, peace, etc.
(This is how we are to rule in the world as well; this is how we overcome evil… with good.)
This is the coming kingdom of God, what prophets and kings longed for but could not do themselves.
Jesus has won, Satan is defeated, God’s love is overcoming Satan’s hate.
We are now blessed to see God as God is, not as Satan deceived us to think of God.
As Adam revealed what God was like (image of God), so now Jesus shows us who God really is.
Do you think of our world as under Satan’s control, or Jesus’s?
Do you feel blessed to know God’s love through Jesus?
Are you living as if Satan is defeated, and Jesus is Lord?
Are you living as His agent of love, joy, peace, so others can see God and Jesus too?
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, help me to focus on Your love, joy, peace where it shows itself in the world, to remind me that You are in charge. Remind me that “though the wrong seems oft so strong, You are the ruler yet.”
