A beautiful song, and speaking as a proud father, beautifully sung.
I’ve never heard this song before, but it is a powerful call to shine brightly with the light and love of Jesus.
Janelle sang this at the Christmas program of Scugog Christian School, I only recorded her solo but it was a great program, great singing, great theme!
You can find the lyrics to the song after the video.
Kathy Troccoli – Go Light Your World
There is a candle in every soul
Some brightly burning, some dark and cold
There is a Spirit who brings a fire
Ignites a candle and makes His home
So Carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the hopeless, confused and torn
Hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world
Frustrated brother, see how he’s tried to
Light his own candle some other way
See now your sister, she’s been robbed and lied to
Still holds a candle without a flame
So Carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the lonely, the tired and worn
Hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world
Cause We are a family whose hearts are blazing
So let’s raise our candles and light up the sky
Praying to our Father, in the name of Jesus
Make us a beacon in darkest times
So Carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the helpless, deceived and poor
Hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
Carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the hopeless, confused and torn
Hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world
Janelle, it was a gift to us to hear you sing – thank you.
Continue to use your giftedness, you are a special child of God.
Thanks for the posting, Norm. It was neat to hear your daughter Janelle sing. Well done! It brought back memories of Scugog Christian School and of previous programs proclaiming the Good News. Even saw Barb B 🙂 Praise God that schools also can be the light in the world. I asked one child what she was to receive at Christmas time. Her response – I have already received my gift. What? I have Jesus Christ in my heart 🙂
