Trust me through this!

THE STORY OF JESUS: Mark 5:35-43
“Jesus told him, ‘Don’t be afraid; just believe.'” (Mark 5:36)
What does Jesus mean when He says ‘don’t be afraid’?
His daughter is dead, his heart is melting in grief and sorrow.
I hear Jesus saying ‘don’t give in to your despair, trust me on this one!’
Fear, grief, despair, sorrow, these are natural in our broken, messed up world.
Whatever little hope we my hold on to is often taken from us.
We eventually get sick, or die, or lose a loved one, or experience tragedy.
When the words ‘it’s hopeless’ ring in our minds, Jesus whispers in our hearts.
‘Don’t be afraid; just believe.’
‘Don’t give in to your despair, trust me on this one!’
But death is the end of hope, its the last word!?
Jesus does not raise up every person who dies, or heal all sick people.
But this sign points to His victory over sin, sickness, death and hell.
“Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.” (1 Thessalonians 4:13)
Without Jesus, there is only grief without hope.
But when Jesus is with us, there is always hope, death is NOT the last word, JESUS IS!
‘Don’t be afraid; just believe.’
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, help me to trust You when things look grim, to cling to faith and not to fear.
