More than conquerors

THE STORY OF JESUS: Mark 3:28-30
“No one can enter a strong man’s house without first tying him up. Then he can plunder the strong man’s house.” (Mark 3:27)
Everything about Jesus, what He said and did, was so contrary to Satan’s agenda.
You have to be pretty confused to attribute love, compassion, mercy to Satan.
The religious leaders felt threatened by Jesus’ goodness, so they called Him evil.
On the contrary, He has come to defeat evil, to dethrone Satan.
He is the promised Human (Son of Man, Son of God) who will crush the serpent (Genesis 3:15).
Jesus is not just opposing Satan, He is defeating Satan, tying him up.
Think about it, the strong man is bound by Jesus, so the captives can be released.
This is what Jesus has done, has accomplished.
Satan is bound, Satan is limited, and we are free to resist him.
“Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)
We are not the rope between Jesus and Satan, two equal opposing enemies.
The rope has tied Satan, and Jesus is in charge, and we are free in Him.
Satan’s only remaining power is the power of the lie… sadly many still listen to him.
This is good news, and changes the way we think and live each day.
Jesus Christ is seated in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 1:20)… but so are we!
“And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.” (Ephesians 2:6)
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, help me to see that I am not the defeated one. When I fail, remind me of grace. When I succeed, remind me of grace. Help me to live as more than a conqueror in You.

  1. Observations/Application
    Jesus is the answer for all.
    All do not follow Jesus.
    There are those who stop, look and listen. And believe.
    There are also those who stop, look and listen. And insist upon their own way. Not His Way. The harden their hearts. They reject the Way. They do not accept the call and are blind because they are a law unto themselves. They willfully go on sinning. They are like the second thief on the cross.
    Yet to all Jesus says ‘Come to me and I will dive you rest.’ Go to Him and He welcomes you always like the ‘prodigal’ son.
    Jesus is the answer.
    Follow Him always
    in all things.

    1 I have decided to follow Jesus;
    I have decided to follow Jesus;
    I have decided to follow Jesus;
    no turning back, no turning back.
