Voting for Jesus!

SCRIPTURE: Acts 17:1-9
“They are all defying Caesar’s decrees, saying that there is another king, one called Jesus.” (Acts 17:7)
I have become disillusioned by politics, and politicians.
With an upcoming fall election, I am toying again with voting for Jesus.
Not for church or christianity, which has become just as political, but Jesus.
The Jesus who suffered, the Jesus who identified with the poor, the weak, the oppressed, the abused.
The Jesus that the world powers (religious and political leaders) rejected and crucified…
But Whom God accepted and confirmed – through His resurrection from death.
To be a Jesus follower is a political statement to the world – we trust and serve Jesus as our Leader.
You can put your hope in Conservatives or Liberals or New Democrats, in Republicans or Democrats.
But in a few years you will be disappointed.
Voting for Jesus is not a passive step, it is an active commitment to join in His platform.
“To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8)
Sadly too many christians have jumped on the political party platforms, but not Jesus’ platform.
Yes, we believe there is another king, one called Jesus.
We are called to join with Him in suffering for justice and mercy, and rising up in victory with Him!
“I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.” (Philippians 3:10-11)
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, if everyone voted for You and Your platform, this world would be a better place. May my life convince people that serving You as King is the best way to live!
