The benefit of weakness

SCRIPTURE: 2 Corinthians 12-13
“I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me.” (2 Corinthians 12:7)
God does not tempt me, but He does allow me to be tempted.
Each person has unique struggles, but the same Deceiver is behind them all.
Like Paul we may find ourselves pleading to God to take them away.
Jesus also asked God to take His ‘cup’ (trial) away, but God did not.
Instead, God stood alongside them in their weakness, and helped them through it.
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)
When we feel weak, we realize our need for God, and we understand better how life works.
We were made to live with, and partner with God; going solo is hopeless and destructive.
God can only help us if we let Him help us, but pride keeps many people self-confident and self-reliant.
Jesus has offered to yoke Himself with us, and to help us carry our heavy load of life.
Are you affirming your weakness, admitting your need, clinging to God’s grace in your weakness?
He will give you everything you need to succeed, if you let Him.
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, I am in a time of weakness again, and it is proving to be an important time for me. Help me not to blame You, but to cling to Your all-sufficient grace, knowing that my success depends on Your helping me.
