SCRIPTURE: Romans 12-13
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world…” (Romans 12:2)
Jesus changes everything: we are restored, evil is defeated, God’s kingdom is unfolding.
How then shall we live: not like the world!
“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Romans 12:2)
Having received the Breath/Spirit of life, we can once again live like God.
The Spirit is producing in our hearts and minds the likeness of God, the fruit of the Spirit.
We are patient, forgiving, respectful of those in authority, overcoming evil with good.
We reverse the curse by becoming a blessing, even to those who don’t deserve it.
We devote ourselves and our gifts to improving the well-being of God’s world.
In short, we live just like Adam was supposed to, and just like Jesus did.
Unless of course we allow ourselves to be conformed to the pattern of this world again.
This is a very real danger for Jesus-followers, therefore Paul’s warning.
“Clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.” (Romans 13:14)
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?

Lord, everything has changed, everything can be different. Expose the patterns of darkness in me, and help me more and more be like You!
