I’m selected too!

SCRIPTURE: Acts 1:12-26
“One of these must become a witness with us of his resurrection.” (Acts 1:22)
Why could only one be chosen to witness to Jesus’ resurrection?
It seems they are selecting a representative, to make the original ‘twelve’ complete.
Like the twelve tribes of Israel, the NT community of faith also has twelve leaders.
Matthias is selected by prayer and lot, but does that mean Joseph can’t witness?
Could you even keep Joseph quiet, if he had actually experienced Jesus alive again?
We may not be one of the original twelve, but we are still called to be witnesses.
They may have had a formal role, but we have a faith role.
Just because you are not in leadership, doesn’t mean you don’t have a ministry.
The Holy Spirit is given to all believers that we may all be Jesus’ witnesses.
Whatever your occupation (whether church leader or not), share what you know about Jesus.
Show people by your words and actions how the resurrected Jesus has changed everything.
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, we are all selected and sent by You, wherever we work, whatever our role in the world. Make my life a living testimony to the power and hope of Your resurrection.
