God’s frustration!

SCRIPTURE: Micah 1:1-7:20
“My people, what have I done to you? How have I burdened you? Answer me.” (Micah 6:3)
As we go through the prophets, their messages start to sound the same.
Again and again and again, the same message — it get’s tiring, frustrating as a reader.
How much more frustrating for God!
Again and again and again, the same sins, the same folly, the same messy lives.
God warns us, God hands us over to our own desires, and lets us pay the price.
God steps in to help us, God promises a better future.
And God reminds us -again – of the life He made us to live.
“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8)
God’s dream is for a world of peace, respect, justice, kindness, abundance, blessing, happiness.
He knows the way to get there, and it is definitely not the way we do it.
You can’t get there by lying, cheating, hurting, stealing, gossiping, bribing, raping, killing.
God’s expectations are not unreasonable.
And when you add to that His willingness to forgive, to and restore… amazing!
Yes, reading the prophets can get tiring and frustrating.
How much more for God, as He goes through this cycle generation after generation.
May God’s better world come soon!
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, if all that I did with my life was act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with You, You would be pleased. Why is this so hard for us?

How does the Word of the Lord come down to us? How do I hear His Word upon the life I have lived and am living? His way or my way? Who is in charge – directing on how I live each day? Whose voice am I listening to this day?
As the leaders go so go the people. Open my yes Lord that I see the Way and walk in Your SonShine. LightShine my Way each day. Help me hear Your voice each day anew so that I follow Your Way always. Have Thine own Way Lord also in my life in living for Jesus. Teach me always so I walk with You always.
