SCRIPTURE: John 9:24-34
“You were steeped in sin at birth; how dare you lecture us!” (John 9:34)
This uneducated blind man speaks truth from his heart, and is attacked for it.
People are still looked down on for their simple or inadequate lives or beliefs.
Theologians look down on simple believers with their hodge-podge theologies.
Scientists look down on simple believers for their faith in the supernatural.
Pastors look down on simple believers for their inadequate or messy spiritual lives.
But this man has a simple, ordinary wisdom that should not be ignored.
He may know very little about lots of things, but he does know Jesus.
He has had a real experience of Jesus, and no one can take this truth away from him.
“When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.” (Acts 4:13)
Peter and John had also knew Jesus, as well as many others, and this experience transformed them.
Through this ‘unschooled, ordinary’ movement of Jesus-followers, Jesus turned the world upside down.
Never underestimate the power your experience of Jesus.
You don’t have to have all the answers, you don’t have to have it altogether, you just need to know Jesus.

This story is a reminder that ‘even the most broken, messed up person can be used by God.’

Lord, I may be broken, messed up, confused, scared, but one thing I do know, You are my hope and strength, and no one can take this away from me! Use me just as I am, to help others just as they are!

Emmanuel – but not with the religious leaders.
God works in miraculous ways. Am I seeing His hand at work today?
Once again, the leaders who were to be in tune with God insisted upon their own prestigious ways. Not God’s glory but man’s. I need to listen to Him always so that I can see Him at work within the creation and me tho day also directing my life. He is in control. He is the pilot. Help me Lord to daily see that and live that always.
