God seeking me

SCRIPTURE: John 6:41-51
“No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them.” (John 6:44)
God is actively seeking everyone (Acts 17:26-27).
We do not find God, God finds us; we do not discover life, we receive it.
Religion is our attempt to find God; Jesus is God’s finding us.
Every religion is a response to the God that seeks us.
God is the initiator, God is the Mover, and we respond.
God is at work in all our lives, showing us how we need Him, His help, His LIFE.
Think of this hymn I grew up singing…

I sought the Lord, and afterward I knew
He moved my soul to seek him, seeking me.
It was not I that found, O Saviour true;
No, I was found of thee.

Thou didst reach forth thy hand and mine enfold;
I walked and sank not on the storm-vexed sea.
‘Twas not so much that I on thee took hold,
As thou, dear Lord, on me.

I find, I walk, I love, but oh, the whole
Of love is but my answer, Lord, to thee!
For thou wert long beforehand with my soul;
Always thou lovedst me.

When we find ourselves thinking of God, it’s because God is thinking of us.
When we find ourselves reaching out to God, it’s because He’s reaching out to us.
The question is, when He comes knocking, will we open the door?
Or when He offers us the Bread of Life, will we accept it?
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, You did not come to teach another religion. You can to freely offer us God’s life, God’s love. Please set us free from religious systems, and to accept Your offer of life.
