SCRIPTURE: Psalm 93
Think of the biggest or strongest thing you know of… other than God.
How vast the universe is, how broad and deep the ocean is?
The devastating power of a tornado, or the unstoppable force of a tsunami?
How hot (massive understatement) the sun or a star is?
The crashing of the waves on the cliffs, the carving power of a river in the Grand Canyon?
God is greater, God is stronger, God is more enduring and firm than all of these.
For God is the Creator behind these, the Wonder of all wonders.
God is the King of all kings, and no-one and nothing can dethrone Him.
Including Satan – God has never ceased to be King of creation, and king of this world.
The kingdom of God is not this world under God’s control – it is, and always has been.
The kingdom of God is this world under Adam’s control, in submission to God (Genesis 1:26-28).
It is our rebellion, not God’s loss of control, that turned this world into a dominion of darkness.
And Jesus has not reclaimed the throne for God; He has reclaimed the throne for us – humanity.
Once again a God-serving Human is on the throne, reigning in/with/for/like God.
And we reign with Him.
Think of it – we have this mighty, holy, powerful God standing behind us as we serve Him.
This world – under God, under Jesus, under us is established, firm and secure!
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, thank You for defeating Satan’s grip on our lives, and restoring us to God, and God’s kingdom to us. Equip me by Your Spirit to live and lead in and with and for and like God.
Observation/Application
The Lord reigns.
My Lord is an awesome God
for He has established the works of His hands.
He has and is reigning forever more.
We see Him in the Creation
as with the pounding waves
mighty and majestic and powerful
to bless and speak to the people
be faithful.
be true.
see Me in my power and majesty.
The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it.
He is King.
He is Lord!
He reigns.
My God is in control at all times
in all things.
My God reigns.
I serve and awesome God.
How lovely on the mountains are the feet of Him
Who brings good news, good news;
Announcing peace, proclaiming news of happiness:
Our God reigns, our God reigns!
Refrain
Our God reigns!
Our God reigns!
Our God reigns!
Our God reigns!
He had no stately form, He had no majesty
That we should be drawn to Him.
He was despised and we took no account of Him.
Our God reigns, our God reigns!
Refrain
It was our sin and guilt that bruised and wounded Him.
It was our sin that brought Him down.
When we like sheep had gone astray our Shepherd came
And on His shoulders bore our shame.
Refrain
Meek as a lamb that’s led out to the slaughterhouse,
Dumb as a sheep before its shearer,
His life ran down upon the ground like pouring rain
That we might be born again.
Refrain
Out from the tomb He came with grace and majesty;
He is alive, He is alive.
God loves us so, see here His hands, His feet, His side
Yes we know, He is alive.
Refrain
