SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 21-27
It seems that whenever humans are in charge, things become pretty bad.
“The earth dries up and withers, the world languishes and withers, the heavens languish with the earth. The earth is defiled by its people; they have disobeyed the laws, violated the statutes and broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore a curse consumes the earth; its people must bear their guilt. (Isaiah 24:4-6)
Our world, like Isaiah’s is still convulsing with corruption, injustice and violence.
Our planet is still groaning under our care.
But Adam (the son of David, Jesus the Messiah) has come.
He has defeated the devil, overcome the curse (sin and death), and restored God’s kingdom.
Jesus is in charge, He rules God’s way: with love, mercy, compassion, justice, integrity, kindness, peace.
And wherever Adam (Jesus) and His followers rule with Him like this, we see signs of the kingdom coming.
Do not focus on evil, or despair because of all that is wrong… focus on Jesus and His kingdom way.
Wherever you see compassion or justice or mercy or kindness, you see God at work, through Jesus, by the Spirit – reversing the curse and restoring the kingdom.
“He will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations; he will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove his people’s disgrace from all the earth.(Isaiah 25:7-8)
“In that day they will say, ‘Surely this is our God; we trusted in him, and he saved us. This is the Lord, we trusted in him; let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation.” (Isaiah 25:9)

PRAYER
Lord, as we go into this provincial election, I am reminded that no human government can fix what is wrong with our world. Help me to focus on You and Your kingdom… it’s our only hope!

Observations/Application
Judgement among the nations. Victory is no longer theirs. Yesterday we were victorious,conquerors, but today, defeated, crushed.
The Lord speaks on the happenings and what will happen. God is in control.
Always.
Always His truth will prevail.
Man though out times thinks he is something but his man made strongholds rise and fall. They gain nothing. Moth will destroy all. His kingdom will be laid waste for they disobeyed the Lord. Eat drink and be merry philosophy has come to an end for the people left the way of the Lord. The creation groans because of the wickedness of the people.
Yet amid all the destruction the Lord will visit those who trust in Him because He is their salvation. Praise the Lord. He is victorious and He will judge the peoples.
Trust in God.
He is the Rock of our salvation.
He guides our footsteps.
God is the Lord over all. Other lords come and go but our Lord reigns forever.
He will gather His people and they will worship Him.
Help me to worship You each day anew Lord. May I see Your hand in all the happenings around me. You are in control. The earth is the Lord’s and all will praise Him one day as it should be. And today I go forward in His power because He has made me GodStrong. Help me to walk daily in Your SonShine.
When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.
