Jesus reveals our hearts

SCRIPTURE: Luke 11:37-44
Obviously Jesus is not happy with the religious leaders.
“You foolish people… Woe to you!… “Full of greed and wickedness, neglecting the justice and love of God.”
Ouch, bullseye, Jesus turns on the light (Luke 11:33-36) and reveals them.
He sees beyond their religious pretension and pettiness, to their hearts.
Hmm, what if Jesus were to put this spotlight on my heart, my life.
Would Jesus define a judgmental spirit, a critical tongue, a showy Christianity that looks good on Sunday?
Recently someone talked about working with some Christians.
This person was troubled by how some of them talked, and worked…
And she only saw the outside, what did God see on the inside?
Mind you, she has her own inside, and her own inconsistencies too – as we all do.
But that is exactly the point, and why we need to allow the light to shine inside of us.
Will we allow God’s spotlight to reveal our hearts, so that with His help we can change.
“Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” (Psalm 139:23-24)
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, You know my heart better than I do. Though it is not pleasant, search me too, and lead me in Your way.
